Noughties Nintendo antiquities?
Recently i’ve been told that a copy of Super Mario Sunshine has bidded on eBay for £90 (not sure why), and that all these stuff that was only released like what, 9 years ago? has started getting some feedback as ‘rarities’ or sumthin’.
For example, I own a copy of Zelda: Collector’s Edition for Gamecube, which I honestly have to admit might actually be worth quite a bit of quid.
So the question is, is it true? Is all the early noughties’ games and such starting to go for higher prices? I’ve tried looking up some stuff and haven’t really found much evidence.
But honestly though, I bet no one here has ever heard of a Game Boy ‘Micro’, it was released in 2005, and I would assume to actually be quite rare even though it’s not aged much……
I just want peoples opinion on what they think about all this, it is a opretty pointless question though, s’pose there’s no harm in sharing useful info……
There’s copies of Super Mario Sunshine going for $10-ish dollars on Amazon so, no idea why it’s going for £90 on eBay.
There are a lot of rare games out there that weren’t popular when they were released, but gained a cult following and became quite popular after they stopped being made; like the game Earthbound on SNES, a single copy of that (I have a copy
) could go for $70 on eBay. Since it didn’t sell well when it was made, not that many copies are floating around so, people will pay a lot to get their hands on it.
Then there’s the matter of some games being recalled, banned or having a lot of controversy, naturally people’s interest in the game will peak when there’s a lot of talk going on about it. Like the whole thing with Hilary Clinton making a fuss over GTA: San Andreas and it was pulled off the shelf for a few months and then released again edited.
Lots of Zelda games are collectible, like Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker.

Years later he would learn that this tree was carved with symbols associated with the Knights of the Golden Circle, a Civil Warera secret society that had buried gold coins and other treasure in various remote loca… |
